East European Folklife Center Our Vision: We envision a global community of passionate amateurs and professionals, sharing what we know and love about Balkan music, dance, and folklore.

The East European Folklife Center (EEFC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, celebrate, and educate the public about traditional and traditionally based music, dance, and cultures of the Balkans. Do you love digital and print marketing, graphic design, and video editing as much as you love the EEFC? You should apply to be our new Communications Coordinator!

This part-time position  supports EEFC’s public communications, including marketing, fundraising communications, social media, and community engagement. The Coordinator would helps promote EEFC programs, strengthen relationships within our community, and advance outreach initiatives.

About last week…

Despite a notable lack of bear appearances, our 49th (!) West Coast camp was another special one. Amidst the Redwoods, we made music and danced, learned and remembered, welcomed new campers of all ages and strengthened our multigenerational, multicultural community. These videos and photos are a tiny attempt at capturing the absolute fun we had.

We are - as always - so grateful for all of the faculty, staff, and volunteers who made this workshop possible. We are also grateful to all our campers for building and growing this uniquely evolving and timeless space. We do this together and for each other, and we hope to carry that energy through to our East Coast camp and all year round.

We’ll see many of our friends in August at Iroquois Springs, and thank you to our West Coasters for kicking off another memorable summer. We hope you keep dancing till our 50th in Mendocino ❤️

Folks, we are but a little over 24 hours away from reprising their Saturday night opening set and getting the party started at camp…it’s go time, y’all!

We can’t wait to see all you lovely West Coast attendees in the Redwoods tomorrow. Please make sure that you’ve read the camper emails, downloaded the resources you need, and let your friends know you’re off the grid for the next week. It’ll be important that we all stay informed, healthy, and prepared moving into our time together, so do give those emails one more look as you get your final camp affairs in order.
