Horace Mann in Oakland is in the books, and we are looking back on paint day with gratitude, joy, and pride.

What started as a vision became a community effort, with volunteers, students, families, and partners coming together to transform a space that will inspire children for years to come. Every brushstroke represents care, connection, and a shared belief that every child deserves an environment that sparks creativity, belonging, and optimism.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and helped bring this project to life. Together, we created something beautiful for the students of Horace Mann and demonstrated the power of community in action.

What if every child felt empowered by the spaces they learn and grow in?
“Blue makes me feel like I can do anything in the world.”
That is why we create environments that inspire confidence, creativity, and belonging — one color at a time.

The joy in kids’ eyes on paint day is what keeps us moving forward 💚

It is more than excitement. It is pride, ownership, and the feeling of belonging to something bigger than themselves.

These colorful spaces will remain for years, but the impact goes far beyond the paint. It lives in the memories created, the confidence built, and the understanding that when a community comes together, positive change is possible.

This is the power of color. This is the power of community.

Project Color Corps is excited to kick off our first COLORS UNITE project at Washington Elementary School in Point Richmond.

COLORS UNITE brings communities together through color, creativity, and participation. Through workshops, collaborative design, and community voting, participants help shape the final artwork by learning, creating, and building a shared voice along the way.

Design has the power to shape how communities feel, connect, and thrive.

Yesterday at SF Design Week, our Laura Guido-Clark Design joined joined Llisa Demetrios, Mary Lee Duff, Jean Hansen and Dawn Zidonis for an inspiring conversation alongside leaders who are using design as a force for positive change.

From cultivating curiosity and designing for neurodiversity, to advocating for the emotional impact of color and advancing sustainability in the built environment, the discussion highlighted how thoughtful design can create more inclusive, human-centered, and meaningful experiences.

A sincere thank you to San Francisco Design Week and Design Bay Area for bringing together such an engaged community of designers, thinkers, and changemakers.

The future of design is not just about spaces. It is about creating environments that support well-being, foster belonging, spark curiosity, and strengthen communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We left inspired by what is possible when design is guided by purpose.

NeoCon holds a special place in our hearts because it reflects what we believe at Project Color Corps: spaces shape how people feel, connect, and experience the world around them.

This year’s activation, Sky Stories, designed by Gensler, is inspired by the way children look at the sky — finding creatures in clouds, inventing worlds overhead, and trusting their imagination without hesitation. Sky Stories invites all of us to return to that instinct. To slow down, look up, and remember what it feels like to imagine freely.

We are honored to bring this experience to NeoCon and cannot wait to welcome you into the space. Stop by, say hello, and experience Sky Stories with us.

Something special is happening at San Francisco Design Week!
Our Laura Guido-Clark Design is joining the panel "The Enduring Spirit of Innovation and Optimism in the Bay Area"
Design Bay Area is bringing together voices across design, color, sustainability, strategy, and cultural storytelling, this conversation is about the Bay Area as more than a hub of innovation — a deeply human place shaped by imagination and the belief that design can improve everyday life.

Looking forward to sharing space with Llisa Demetrios of Eames Institute, Mary Lee Duff, Jean Hansen, and Dawn Zidonis.

Thank you San Francisco Design Week and Design Bay Area for welcoming us.
