Headfirst Arts & Media Founded in 2013 by award-winning filmmaker Yoav Potash, Headfirst Arts & Media, Inc.

is a nonprofit 501(c)3 film & video production company that produces documentary films for the general public and video content for other nonprofit organizations. Our independent films focus on uplifting the stories of those fighting against the odds for justice and equal rights. The videos we produce for social service agencies, domestic violence agencies, schools, and other nonprofit organizatio

https://independent-magazine.org/2022/01/15/the-new-york-jewish-film-festival-jan-12-25/ Our short film Beregovsky #136 got a lovely write-up in The Independent (film magazine published since 1976) for its current run at the New York Jewish Film Festival. "Yoav Potash had the bright idea of shooting Saul Goodman’s Klezmer Band (featuring clarinetist/narrator Mike Perlmutter and violinist Ilana Sherev) playing a short example ( #136) near its California roots. Goodman’s band hires out for weddings, bar and bat mitzvah parties in the San Francisco Bay Area. Potash matched their keening instrumental to historical photographs of everyday Jewish life in the 1930s (from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). The result is serendipity—an authentic cinematic record of pleasant Jewish activities in Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Lithuania. It’s cut to the music, and in one joyous Fresylekhs (circle dance), the match to the music is sublime..."

We recently produced this video for the nonprofit organization Tel Aviv University USA - AFTAU about the incredible life and ongoing work of Dr. Anita Friedman of The Koret Foundation and Jewish Family and Children's Services.
