Here is our calendar for 2026. More events are planned and calendar will be updated once dates are finalized. Please note we will NOT be open for Memorial Day Weekend as in the past because MDOT is busy putting in a roundabout at M-139 and Empire, so a bit challenging to get to us until July.
We are working on various projects around the park during this time and would accept anyone that would like to volunteer along with us 🚂. Send us an email if interested in volunteering to [email protected]

We received some good news regarding the boiler for steam engine #7! Please click on photo for details.

We've received some great sounding news from Detroit this morning.

Number 7s Boiler has passed its initial testing and checks. This means with a bit of care it'll be receiving out in Detroit, it'll be ready for a few more years of service with us once it comes back home.

It'll still be another month or so before the boiler comes back, but in the meantime the shop crew is going to start putting together a battle plan on repairs to the running gear and other bits in preparation for the boiler to return.

Realistically we might have #7 back together and ready for the car show in the fall, but schedules and grouchy old mechanical parts will be our real deciding factors.

Our historic steam engine, #7, has an issue with its boiler and needs repair. This engine was the very first locomotive ran at Eden Springs Park in 1908. Below is a link to our off shoot site “Eden Springs Park Locomotive Works” where you can find more information.

Number 7s Boiler is headed off this morning bound for Detroit Boiler Works out in Detroit. Fingers crossed for good news and a few years more of service before we have to plan out a new boiler.

We'll keep posted with what news we can share once we start getting updates.

The last day of February. What a difference when the snow melts and Spring is right around the corner!

Only 44 days 'til Spring! In the meantime, winter is truly a beautiful time of year, regardless of the aggravation it sometimes causes us.
