October is National Archives Month. 📦✨ Your archive is bigger than you think.

It’s the shoebox of unnamed photos, Grandma’s funeral program, the voicemail you can’t delete, the stories our neighborhood “just knows” but no one has written down.

💬 What’s one item in your archive you could never replace? Tell us below, tag someone who keeps your family’s stories, and share this post so more people start preserving theirs.

Your story is history. Let’s keep it. 💛

The story was right here the whole time. 🏘️🖤

I recently toured the house of david in benton harbor and it stopped me in my tracks. a baseball team. an amusement park. a zoo. all of it right in our backyard. most of us drive past it every single day.

That tour made me ask: what else are we missing on our own blocks?

September’s roots & routes is going neighborhood deep. our stories are there too and we are going to find them.

Read issue 9 in your inbox NOW or subscribe at the link above. and tell us: what is the story on your block?

Bard School is officially coming down this morning. 😮‍💨
And here I am finding more items for the archives. My dad’s youngest brother’s award. I would say perfect attendance runs in the family. 😏
