’Twas the day before Winter Art Hop, and all through the town,
Benton Harbor was sparkling, no one wearing a frown.
The Arts District was dressed up with care,
In hopes that tomorrow, the crowds would be there.
The Benton Harbor Arts Association was humming with cheer,
Planning hot cocoa and treats as the big day drew near.
Maps for the Hop were all stacked in neat rows,
With whispers of carolers and maybe some snow.
Trolley bells jingled in practice that night,
Ready to shuttle folks under twinkling lights.
From St. Joe to the District, through cold winter air,
They’d carry art-lovers and families to share.
Santa was checking his suit, fluffy and red,
Thayer Park waiting just steps ahead.
With cocoa and laughter and wishes to hear,
He’d bring little sparks of pure Christmas cheer.
An outdoor movie was queued for the screen,
A winter-night scene like a postcard dream.
Friends bundled up, mittens wrapped tight,
Ready for magic in the crisp, frosty night.
So rest, Benton Harbor, just one sleep to go,
Till the Arts District shines with a holiday glow.
For tomorrow we gather—come far and come near—
To Winter Art Hop, where the art meets the cheer. 🎄✨🚌
