Thursday, Oct 31, we have a beautiful opportunity to remind our children and families to buy black and celebrate Black Heroes this holiday season. Thank you to Purpose Church Ministries for being the first church this year to graciously host a Black Hero Day event! Great food, fun and words of wisdom! May we all choose our adult and children's costumes consciously and uplift the joy and creativity that our culture has given to the world.

Event Location: Purpose Church Ministries,
710 E Main Street, Benton Harbor, MI 49022

Congratulations!! It is time for a Special Day of Observance as well.

To the family of Shamika Jordan, the Racial Equity Chamber loves and appreciates all that you are doing in the City of Benton Harbor to create greater possibilities for fire hydrant safety, fire safety education and a better quality of life for our residents in honor of Shamika Jordan's eternal love for her family and community at large. Congratulations on receiving a unanimous Yes vote at City Hall for the honorary street name change that will officially include Shamika Jordan Way at McAlister Street where she resided. This is a great first step for our city long awaited by your supporters and friends. Your courage and unity created this possibility and will pave the way for better government. Blessings to your family and loved ones. Shamika Jordan lives through your tenacity. Now, the land surrounding McAlister shall officially salute Mrs. Jordan's memory with honor and dignity. May a Citywide Day of Observance named in Shamika Jordan's honor come properly to our great city sooner rather than later.
