We're accepting nominations for our Gold Star Awards, recognizing the teachers, paraeducators, bus drivers, office staff, custodians, and other school employees who made a difference for students this year. School is the safety net for so many of our community kids. It's where a loving teacher or favorite staffer might see a need that would otherwise go unnoticed.

School might be ending, but the needs don't stop.

Summer is a vulnerable time for so many kids in our district. Having enough food in the house for every meal is a challenge. The cost of childcare or summer programs eats into everyday budgets.

Yes Cards give money directly to district families. A gift card can be in-hand in a matter of hours to help with basic needs like food, hygiene products, and more.

🍎 Educator Grants are NOW OPEN for the 2026/2027 school year!

Did you know BPSF can give money DIRECTLY to teachers for their ideas and innovations in the classroom (and beyond)? 💸Yup, we can do that!

In fact, we fund a majority of grants $1000 and under. Have a bigger ask? We're very supportive of larger grants that involve project collaboration between multiple staff(s).

Yes Cards are pretty amazing. ✨

School staff are some of the first to see when a kid is in need.

So a quick Yes Card request can put money in the hands of a family within a day or two to cover food, basic necessities, and tackle barriers to participation. It's a small amount that can make a big difference, right away.

Here's a quick overview of (some!) of our Yes Card requests over the course of a typical month.

✅15 requests for food support, in the form of groceries or vouchers
✅11 requests for clothing, for both basic and weather-appropriate needs
✅8 requests for hygiene and personal care resources, including soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, and other hygiene products
✅10 requests for sports gear, including shoes, cleats, pads, and other athletic equipment

📣Attention 8th grade music families! 📣

✅ APRIL 3: Applications due for the Carolyn Troutman 8th Grade Music Award!

Two stipends (up to $1,000) are available to help graduating 8th grade students in our district pursue music education and opportunities.

Last year, a recipient of the award was able to purchase a new cello with his scholarship. He's now playing with the WWU Symphony (as a 9th grader!), and was selected as a cello finalist in state competition.
