We wanted to share this important news report about how the American Cancer Society is addressing the higher cancer risks among black women. We’ve launched a national study aimed to reduce cancer deaths in this demographic.

A very special thank you to Dr. Belinda George, who is part of our local VOICES for Black Women study group and provided inspiring feedback on how this study will impact future generations. We also would like to thank Dr. Chisaroka Echendu of Baptist Hospital who provided medical perspective on why this study is so important.

On World Cancer Day, we pause to recognize the millions of people whose lives have been impacted by cancer in different ways, at different moments and with different outcomes. And the American Cancer Society is working tirelessly to end cancer as we know it for everyone.

Together, we honor every story and keep pushing for earlier detection, better treatment options and lasting hope. Visit www.cancer.org for more information.
