Small schools have a storytelling advantage: nothing about them is generic.

The tight community, the visible impact, the chance to shape something rather than inherit it. These are what many experienced educators go looking for.

TIE gives schools of every size the same tools to be found. Your story does the rest.

❓ What can an educator do at your school that they could not do at a larger one?

When candidates ask about workload, housing, or professional learning, they are usually asking one deeper question: what is it really like to work here? 🏫

Schools that answer honestly in postings, sessions, and conversations attract educators who choose them with their eyes open.

Candidates who choose with full information stay. That is culture doing the recruiting.

❓ How would your newest staff member describe your culture after one term?

➑️ Let your culture lead πŸ”— www.tieonline.com/new/school_recruiting_service.cfm

πŸ’« TIE Newsletter: The PTC Is Rethinking Leadership Around Student Learning πŸ’«

🀩 What would change about the way you lead if you stopped before every decision and asked: what learning for what kids is at stake if we do or don't take this action?

πŸ—ΊοΈ Read this article about how TIE's sister organization, the Principals' Training Center - PTC, is redesigning its professional learning to move leaders away from documentation and compliance toward something harder and more important: genuine impact on student learning.

πŸ’ We want to hear from YOU! PTC Director Bambi Betts warns that reflection should not become an excuse for inaction: "There has been so much about going slow to go fast. We take that point, but when that means keeping what we know about learning from our kids, then, no." Where in your school might well-intentioned deliberation be getting in the way of change that students actually need now?
The article asks: "What are we making possible for students and their learning?" How clearly can you answer that question about your own role right now?

Not every international school is built the same way, and that matters more than it seems.

For-profit or non-profit. Accredited networks. National curriculum or IB. Teacher-owned cooperatives. The differences shape everything from compensation structures to how decisions get made, and they're easy to miss if you're comparing schools by reputation alone.

Module 1 of our PTC course, International School Job Search: Get Hired, walks through a comprehensive taxonomy of international schools, then helps you build your next role criteria. Searching as a couple or recruiting with dependents? The course makes room for that too.

❓ Have you ever compared schools by type before applying? What did you learn?

πŸ’« TIE Newsletter: Built for the Whole Journey: Find, Hire, and Grow With TIE πŸ’«

🀩 What would international education look like if every hiring decision was based on evidence of actual teaching rather than a two-page resume?

πŸ—ΊοΈ Read this article from Stacy Stephens about how TIE's three connected areas, helping educators stand out, helping schools hire well, and supporting ongoing professional growth, are designed to work together as one system built around a single question: how does this ultimately improve the experience of students in the classroom?

πŸ’ We want to hear from YOU! TIE's work is grounded in a nonprofit mission to keep the best resources in international education accessible and affordable. What does it mean to you to be part of a profession supported by that kind of commitment?
