Yesterday we hosted another Juneteenth celebration at one of our Supportive Housing communities! Residents at Skyline Terrace gathered to break bread, reconnect with neighbors, and enjoy an afternoon filled with conversation, laughter, and community.

This week we are hosting our annual Juneteenth celebrations at our supportive housing communities for single adults. Here are a few photos from the Capital Studios community in downtown Austin. There was great food, fun games and loving community, something everyone looks forward to! Keep an eye out for more photos to come and happy Juneteenth!

We are excited to announce our North Austin Prosper Center is moving this July!🎉

This new location will allow us to serve more clients with double the space and parking of our current location on Airport Boulevard. It will also be more convenient for the many clients we serve in North Austin and Williamson County💛

👏 Our Burleson Studios supportive community for single adults is only about two months away from completion, and we're excited to show you how it's looking.

📹 In this video, we get to follow along on a tour of Burleson Studios with Foundation Communities Executive Director Walter Moreau and staff members. Walter shows off all the features that will make this an incredible home for 104 of our neighbors who have struggled to afford housing.

Summer Program is now underway in 16 of the Foundation Communities Learning Centers in Austin and North Texas. Earlier this month, Learning Center staff were training at our Lakeline Station Apartments to make sure the program is fun and educational for our students. Our theme for Summer Program this year is “Dare to Dream: Exploring Our World, Creating Our Future.” That starts with educators who are willing to dream right alongside their students. We are focusing on creativity through art, history, and entrepreneurship exploration.

Summer training is also a fun opportunity for staff to get re-acquainted and share ideas and experiences.

Thanks again to the volunteers from KXAN who served and visited with residents Friday at three of our supportive communities for single adults. These are photos from the Supper Club at Garden Terrace. It was all part of the annual Founder's Day activities for their parent company, Nexstar. 🎉 Yesterday's Open House at Homestead Oaks was a blast! We loved connecting with our community and discussing how folks can get involved at Foundation Communities.

Keep an eye out for our next Open House in August, and remember: there are a ton of ways to get involved! You can volunteer with our Tax Help and Financial Coaching programs, support residents through our Welcome Home Basics program or by hosting a Supper Club, work with the kids in our Learning Centers or serve as an assistant English teacher in one of our ESL classes, and help distribute food to our community members at one of our many Healthy Food Pantries.

Our Cardinal Point Learning Center is READY for the summer program — and we have SailPoint Interns to thank for it! For the third year in a row, 40 interns came ready to serve - setting up a teen room, packing 40 backpacks for our students, sorting Lego donations, and getting everything summer fresh. Being part of their onboarding journey is a gift. Thank you for your heart for community! 💛

A big thank you to Andy Roddick Foundation for putting the Learn All the Time (LATT) Partner Spotlight on our own Jennifer Atwood, the Data and Operations Coordinator for the Foundation Communities Education Department. Her love for kids and her joy at watching them grow and find themselves drew her into education. If you have enjoyed seeing the displays the students in our Learning Centers have created for holidays on our social media, you can thank Jennifer for that tradition.
