Happy Hearts Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) volunteer based Mixed Breed Rescue Organization in Austin, TX.

We rely on volunteer foster homes to save dogs from kill shelters all across the state of Texas.

Trix is the absolute cutest little pup! Just check out his mini photo shoot photos. Perfection! A pint size cutie. He is a 5-months-old Terrier mix weighing in at just 18 lbs. it’s hard to tell, but he does have wiry fur. And those gorgeous eyes!!

Trix does amazing with other dogs. He is fully vaccinated now and does great on walks. He’s also crate trained and housebroken. You can’t beat that!

He can be passive aggressive when it comes to demanding scratches, but he is so dang adorable and sweet when he does it. Adopt Moose so you can cuddle and give him scratches 24/7.

We are so in love with our new boy Wyatt! His silky ears, puppy dog eyes, big jowls and master splooting. What’s not to love?

Wyatt is also very sweet and affectionate. He loves to cuddle with humans and other dogs one of his favorite things is making out with his bestie Scarlet. This guys also loves hanging in the backyard and going for walks.

Wyatt is 1.5 years old, Black Lab mix, 60 lbs, good with dogs/kids/cats unknown, rides well in the car and is excellent on leash, housebroken and crate trained. He’s just the bestest boy!

Wishing our longest stay a very happy ! Kai is a very goofy and very loving special girl. She has been with the rescue for a little over two years.

Kai is housebroken and crate trained, although she is not destructive when left loose in the home for short periods. She will be most successful in a home with no other pets, no children and with someone that doesn’t have a lot of new folks coming in and out of their home.

We would love for Kai to find that special person that is patient and kind. Someone to give her a chance at her very own FURever home. She is so very deserving!!

You too can wake up every morning with this face! All you have to do is adopt Moose!! He is the silliest squishiest boy you will ever meet. Loving, gentle and sweet. What more can you ask for in a furry family member?

Moose is an 8 year old Bully mix. He is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on leash, and even rides great in the car! Moose is good with baths and nail trims. He does amazing with the three little dogs in his foster home, but does need a house with no cats. He’s also super gentle with little kids.

We are officially introducing you to this beautiful lady, Scarlet! She is such an amazing and loving girl. She would be so incredibly happy to find her FURever family.

Scarlet almost didn’t make it out of the shelter. She was on the EU list due to space. Thankfully we had a foster step up to save her life.

Our girl is great with other dogs, rides well in the car, enjoys walks, is crate trained, good with kids, friendly and affectionate, playful and cuddly. Not to mention she is gorgeous, just look at that brindle coat.

Scarlet is a year old and 50 lbs. Get those apps in now friends, she is AMAZING!

Everyone officially meet new kid on the block, our boy, Wyatt! The sweetest one-year old derp. Very friendly, a little shy, but very affectionate. His big head, jowly mouth and loving eyes… how do you not fall in love?!

Wyatt is 60 lbs, mixed breed, housebroken, walks amazing on loose leash, getting better with the crate, neutered, heartworm negative, rides well in the car, good with other dogs.

Wyatt really is the most darling derpy big head baby! You will adore him!!

Howdy Friends! Kai hopes everyone has a great week!!
She wants to remind everyone she is available for adoption. She’s also available for fostering. A quirky girl, but oh so loving!!

Kai will be most successful in a home with no other pets, no children and with someone that doesn’t have a lot of new folks coming in and out of their home.

If you want to give a dog a second chance at love and affection please consider helping out Kai. She spends a lot of time alone in her casita and is always so thrilled to have the company of her friends.

She’s housebroken, crate trained, can be alone for multiple hours a day, walks well on leash, knows basic commands, is muzzle trained, rides great in the car.

Waiting for dinner? Waiting for his cards while playing Texas Hold’em? Does it matter? Trix is absolutely adorable waiting patiently at the dining room table!

Our pint size pup isn’t just the cutest little guy, he’s also the sweetest. A little shy, he does warm up faster with other dogs around, so we recommend you already have a dog or two (he likes an emotional support doggy friend).

Trix is a 15 lbs Chihuahua mix, 4 months old, probably going to be at least 30 lbs full grown. Crate trained, 98% potty trained, good with kids and dogs of all sizes, might have a little prey drive with cats.

Not to be outdone by his siblings, Kix wants everyone to know his ears might flop normal, but he is just as cute, and just as smart as his brothers!

A little more on the shyer side than Chex, but not as shy as Trix. This guy is just right, in the middle. Great with dogs (even big ones!) and kids (even ones that want to carry him around!), he is a great addition to any family! He loves to cuddle up in a blanket on the couch in the evening on someone’s lap and is sleeping through the night in his crate.

Kix is a 4 months old, Chihuahua mix, around 15 lbs, fully vaccinated, 98% potty trained and crate trained.
