Our endorsements are in for the Fall 2026 Austin ISD school board elections!

These races matter. We need school board members who will stand up for educators, students, and strong public schools, and who will fight for local control of our district.

Now it’s time to organize. Get involved by block walking, talking with your neighbors, and supporting our endorsed candidates through Election Day.

Want to help? Reach out to Education Austin and get plugged in. Let’s build the school board our schools deserve. ✊

Public schools must be welcoming spaces for every student, regardless of their background.

A new lawsuit filed in Harris County by public school parents argues that forcing the Ten Commandments into Texas classrooms violates state law. The suit highlights that the mandate breaches the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the voter-approved parental rights constitutional amendment. As one plaintiff stated, this requirement ignores religious differences and teaches children that exclusion is acceptable. TSTA stands firmly with parents and educators fighting to keep our classrooms inclusive, respectful, and focused on learning, not division.

We’re building power at our worksites. ✊

Today’s worksite stewards training brought educators together to learn how to organize, advocate for our coworkers, and build stronger workplaces.

We are organizing against a TEA takeover and for more power at our campuses and worksites. That means building the collective power we need to protect our schools, our colleagues, and our communities.

Missed the training? Interested in getting more involved? Contact our office and find out how you can get involved in organizing at your worksite.

The more of us who organize, the more power we have.
