🗣️More than 8,000 public comments poured in before the May 3 deadline — by far the biggest public response we’ve ever seen on this project. The message was loud and clear: Austinites are tired of billion-dollar highway 🚧 boondoggles masquerading as transportation "solutions" while our water, trees, and public lands are put on the chopping block.

⚖️ Our Texas Public Information Act lawsuit is already producing results. CTRMA is now cooperating and has stated they intend to provide the records and attachments we requested. We are waiting for them to fully come through on that commitment, and we expect another update within the next week.

This fight is far from over, and we need your help to fund the next round:

🔥 Generate massive amounts of heat, noise, and pollution across entire regions

🫠 on April 1st, Austin’s Environmental Commission voted UNANIMOUSLY on a resolution to invoke a moratorium on DCs, halt incentives and expansion of data centers and require strong environmental protections, water and energy limits, transparency, and public oversight to keep this industry in CHECK.

🫣Council is moving in the opposite direction. Let’s stop this NOW.

🥰We are overwhelmed with the beautiful swell of joyful resistance and support in the final days of the MoPac South public comment period. 🌺 organized a beautiful event at the springs yesterday, where we sang to the waters and left CTRMA cranky voicemails in unison. 🤣 throughout this swift and mighty 55 day campaign, we amassed over 6200 comments together. 🤗 Half of those comments came in in the last 72 hours.🦋Thank you to all the people with spheres of social influence standing up for the springs, and for each other. 💪WAKE UP, CTRMA! No one wants this concrete, plastic, and steel nightmare in our aquifer. Stay tuned for the next steps. This ain’t over, but for now we rest and bask in our collective voices 🎶🎵🎶

👉CTRMA is pushing for a FONSI (Finding of No Significant Impact)

🛑The Barton Springs Salamander, Austin Blind Salamander, Bee Creek Cave Harvestman, and Tooth Cave Spider rely on clean groundwater and intact cave systems to survive. When those systems are damaged, the loss is permanent ⚠️

This level of risk demands a full Environmental Impact Statement. The Center for Biological Diversity has long emphasized that when endangered species are at stake, anything less than a full review is unacceptable. 📜
