Dear Texas Crew Family,

I hope this message finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Tim Poole, a former Texas Crew member, on December 26, 2024.

I first got to know Tim through his brother, Jason Poole (who rowed at Creighton), and was thrilled to see him join the Texas Crew team. Although our time on the team didn’t overlap, our paths crossed through the Texas Crew Foundation, and I always admired his dedication and quirky spirit.

Tim was a novice rower under Coach Bob Krentler and later became a varsity member under Head Coach Jeff Mork (Jeffrey Mork)

Greetings,

On behalf of Blair and Judy, we are writing to share some difficult news.
You are receiving this email because you are a dear friend to Blair and Judy, and have helped Blair’s team, The RetroGenerates, raise over $100,000 in support of brain research and improving the lives of those with neuro-degenerative illnesses.

We have known Blair for many years and know him to be funny, obstinate, courageous and incredibly strong. Blair has had to rely on all these qualities since his Parkinson’s diagnosis over 20 years ago, and continues to do so as Parkinson’s relentlessly erodes his quality of life.
Blair, with Judy’s love and support, has made the difficult decision to apply for Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID), which is legal in Canada. The application process is ongoing and, while no date has been scheduled, it is Blair’s wish to move quickly.

On behalf of Blair and Judy, we are reaching out to share this news and invite you to connect with Blair and Judy to share your memories, your laughter and your love with them. If possible, we are asking that you share any pictures or videos of your memories and create audio or video messages for Blair and Judy to enjoy at their leisure. Most of us know Blair and Judy through the rowing community and know that pulling together is what our community is all about, on and off the water. Let’s pull together now for Blair and Judy to show them our love and support in this difficult transition.
