5 years ago today our world changed, but more importantly, the world changed for over 200 animals that the world discarded, used and abused. It took 16 days to move all of our residents and the rest of our things from our old founding property, after months and months of work. 5 years ago today, the enchanted pig forest was born as an evolution to the CTPR legacy. And to all of you, past, present and future, who made it happen, we love you.

Rescue isn’t about just a moment in time - it’s not just the moment an animal is pulled from the clutches of some awful circumstance. It’s also about every decision made from that moment forth, every day, for the rest of your time with them. This decision, in 2021, exemplifies just that.

October is a time of many special anniversaries for us. October 1st marks 5 years of the enchanted pig forest. October 6th marks our official 10 years as a nonprofit. October 15th marks 10 years since the Bastrop Seizure pigs found safety with us.

We have many stories to tell.

Sometimes, as anniversaries approach I don’t think about the day itself. I think about the toil and worry and optimism and work of the days and weeks ahead.

Today, I’m thinking about how the my friends Rose, Ace, Dorothy, Atlas, Dora, Agnes…and so many others…may have felt 10 years ago today.

As we approach 10 years, and there’s no day we take for granted. But in order for our next decade to even bigger, better, and more impactful, we need your help. Whether this is your first donation or 50th, your dollars are supporting the care of our sanctuary residents, and helping us to amplify our advocacy to help more pigs beyond our 26 acres. Thank you for believing in us.
