While the initial "Monarch Highway" initiative along I-35 faced delays, central U.S. states like Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri are enthusiastically stepping up. By independently planting native wildflowers, expanding roadside pollinator habitats, and adopting eco-friendly mowing practices, these states are actively breathing new life into key migration corridors to help monarch butterfly populations thrive.
