Ross and had a lovely time visiting this month for a meal and their monthly gathering, which this time was arts & crafts!

Roshley visited UNC and Duke and enjoyed both Chapel Hill and Durham very much. Daniel, Grey, Kevin, and Rose were lovely to get to know in an energetic food hall, where we learned about each other as well as our similarities in religious upbringing and what we're looking for in community.

For the crafty Mothers Day morning, Rose expertly led some of us in designing, transferring, tracing, and carving out a print to use as a kind of stamp. Sam, the Sunday Assembly Mascot, was both subject and skilled artist. Rose did a great job guiding us to a satisfying result! Others made origami, and kids like Sam's bounced between Playdough and a dozen other fascinations.

The venue was fantastic: it's devoted to people's solidarity and had fiercely progressive values that Sunday Assembly can learn from.

Today we visited to pack over 50 large bags of household supplies that were donated by our community or from funds from for the . These will go to families who are new to our country, including refugees, for whom not spending money on these essentials can mean making rent or buying food. Nearby Clarkston is a big place for resettlement.

Today we put empathy into action in a time where so many of our institutions turn their backs and withdraw their support. We are so greatful for everyone who came, especially those who didn't know about SAA!

Finally, this effort is our participation in 's , where chapters all over live one of our core values and show what community outside of religion does so well.

🧘 Porch meditation continues to be a calming, beautiful experience. Every 2 weeks on Wednesdays we meet and sit quietly, each to our own mindfulness or loving kindness or reflective meditation practice, then journal about it, and then share.

Zooming in is also an option, and we have locals and a Canadian friend joining us lately.

Still going after the one who kicked us off, Emily, now at , left us a while ago!

As usual find our events on Meetup 🙂

We are grateful for for this opportunity and Atlanta Good Shepard Community Church for their work providing services for unhoused folks and growing crops to educate and feed people.

Today we dug out many bags of trash from this I-20 embankment, yanked kudzu out, and laid hay to repair this area for future wildflower planting. Spirits were high as we transformed this space for the betterment of everyone in West End.

They fed us and gave out thank you gift cards! This was a wonderful experience with great people.
