What I never imagined when I moved to the United States...

I thought the hardest part would be leaving my country.

It wasn't.

The hardest part was wondering if I would be able to help my child succeed in a place where everything felt unfamiliar.

A new language. A new school system. A lot of paperwork. The parent-teacher meetings. Fearing I would make the wrong decision. For many immigrant families, these worries are real. But here's what I've learned... Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's the beginning of new opportunities.

At LaAmistad, we've spent 25 years walking alongside families as they build confidence, discover resources, and create brighter futures for their children.

Because every family deserves to feel supported.

Hay cosas que llevamos con nosotros sin importar dónde estemos. ❤️💛

Una tradición familiar, una receta, una canción, nuestro idioma, una historia que escuchamos desde pequeños o una enseñanza que pasó de una generación a otra.

Son pequeños pedacitos de nuestras raíces que nos recuerdan de dónde venimos y que también podemos compartir con las generaciones que vienen después. ✨
