Chris Riggenbach is the talented bass player for Sunday's jazz concert. Come hear him live at 2:00!
Known for his versatility, Chris Riggenbach has played bass with Josh Groban, Wayne Newton, Matt Catingub, Macon Pops, Jens Lindemann, Jerry Fields & Vecinos del Mundo, Joe Gransden, Chloe Agnew, Gary Motley, Wycliffe Gordon, Victor Goines, Ted Howe, Audrey Shakir, Karla Harris, Gavin Ahearn Trio, Keith David, Sarah Partridge, Marcus Lewis, Tempest Little Big Band, Raphael Imbert, Constellation Concerts, Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Wind Symphony, Jazz Legacy Big Band, Larry Camp, 4th Ward Afro Klezmer Orchestra, and Gold Sparkle Band and a host others. Additional performance credits include the musicals Wicked, Cats, Bright Star, Les Misérables, Parade, Grease, Jukebox Giants: Motown & More!, Anything Goes, Camelot, Beehive, The Sound of Music, Catch Me If You Can, Dreamgirls, Bonnie & Clyde, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. International performances include a tour in Poland with the Josh Lawrence Jazz 3. Chris holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Georgia State University and teaches bass at Emory University and Oglethorpe University. He studied double bass with Ralph Jones and Thomas Thoreson from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Dee Moses from the Florida Orchestra, Neal Starkey, Dennis Irwin, Rich Nanista, Robert Dickson, and electric bass with Russ Rodgers.

The jazz pianist for Sunday's concert is Brian Parks. Brian is the founder and co-director of Quadratum, a school for uniquely inquisitive young people (6th-12th grade) interested in rigorous musicking, direct-impact service experiences, demanding expeditions, and intellectual and physical independence. The students recently returned from Quadratum’s weeklong choral residency at Exeter Cathedral in Devon, England, where they sang Daily Services and a choral Mass, lived collaboratively, and jumped off rocks into the ocean. Brian is a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists and holds advanced degrees from Wesleyan University in Composition and Ethnomusicology, studying with Alvin Lucier, Ron Kuivila, and Abraham Adzenyah. He currently serves as Director of Music at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Buckhead. Parks has given organ and harpsichord concerts throughout Europe and the US, most recently in September 2026, giving a solo organ concert and improvisation masterclass for the Meakusma Festival in Eupen, Belgium. Brian has been playing the music of Claude Bolling with Jerry Fields since he was a teenager and continues to love doing so. A native Atlantan, his teachers growing up were Leah Brammer and Ted Howe. The featured cellist for Sunday's concert is Congcong Bi. Come hear her live on Sunday at 2:00!
Dr.Congcong Bi is a cellist from Shandong, China. She is an active educator, performer, and researcher. She serves as Orchestra Director at Lakeside High School, with adjunct appointments at the University of North Georgia and Gwinnett Technical College. Dr. Bi holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance and String Pedagogy from the University of Southern Mississippi, plus additional degrees from ArtEZ Conservatorium (the Netherlands) and Lee University (TN). She has presented recitals at Emory University and released singles with American pianist and composer Michael Dublin. Her scholarship explores mathematical music and ethical music. Her work has been presented at international conferences, including the TCSG Mathematics & Science Conference, the Contemporary Composition Research Conference, and the 12th Symposium of the International Study Group on Music Archaeology in Germany. Her research on Lin Chong has been cited by cello scholars as foundational in the field.

Teodora Stoyanova is the featured flautist for Sunday's jazz concert. Come hear her live at 2:00 on Sunday.
Described as “an exciting, vibrant, expressive and inspiring flutist,” Teodora Stoyanova enjoys a diverse career as a performer and educator in Europe and the United States. Based in Atlanta, she has performed as a concerto soloist, principal flutist, and chamber musician with the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, Northeast Atlanta Ballet, Capital City Opera, DaSalo Solisti Chamber Orchestra, Aulos Wind Quintet, and Atlanta Flute Ensemble. She has also performed with the Gwinnett Symphony Jazz Orchestra. In Europe she has performed with the trio Aquamarine at the Westminster Reference Library, St. John’s the Baptist Church, and the Embassy of Bulgaria in London and as a concerto soloist with the Shumen Symphony Orchestra in Bulgaria. Passionate about music education, Ms. Stoyanova has served on the faculty of New School of Music for many years and maintains a private teaching studio. Stoyanova holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she studied with Prof. Lidia Oshavkova. Teodora is a prizewinner of national and international competitions, including First Prize at the National Competition “Svetoslav Obretenov” and a Special Prize at the International Competition “Music and the Earth.”

We're getting excited about Sunday's jazz concert! Jerry Fields, Redeemer's own, is anchoring the ensemble on percussion. Learn a little more about him:
Jerry Fields is an accomplished percussionist, music director, composer, arranger, and educator whose career spans jazz, world music, flamenco, orchestral performance, and contemporary music. He is the percussionist and music director of Vecinos del Mundo recognized as the premier Latin Jazz ensemble in the Southeastern United States. The group has shared the stage with Latin Jazz legends: Tito Puente, Poncho Sanchez, and Eddie Palmieri. A former Columbia Records recording artist and member of the legendary Hampton Grease Band, Fields toured extensively throughout the United States in the early 1970s, performing at major festivals, clubs, concert halls, and the Fillmore East alongside artists including Frank Zappa, Dave Brubeck, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Fields’ passion for global music has led to collaborations with Flamenco, Greek, Middle Eastern, and other world music ensembles. He currently serves as music director and percussionist for Taksim, a Middle Eastern fusion and dance ensemble, and has worked with Caló Gitano Flamenco Dance Theater Company and his own group, Sueños Flamencos. An accomplished orchestral musician, Fields served 11 years as principal timpanist of the Cobb Symphony Orchestra. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance, Summa Cum Laude, from Kennesaw State University and serves as an Artist Affiliate at Oglethorpe University. Fields has been a member of the Redeemer Jazz Trio for over 27 years playing drums and percussion for the 9am Jazz worship service.
