Say hello to Chan, Senior Program Manager at ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ค๐ง๐ฌ๐๐ง๐!
Chan spent more than 20 years in local government leading beautification and civic projects alongside city leaders, volunteers, and neighbors. She saw firsthand what happens when local leaders and residents pull in the same direction, and since joining GMA and ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ค๐ง๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ in March 2024, she's been bringing that spirit to cities across the state.
Today, Chan leads the Mayors' Reading Club, where she gets to see local leaders champion literacy in their own towns. For Chan, reading is the foundation for everything: a child's confidence and success in school, an adult's path to a good job and a voice in the community, and a city's long-term health and economic strength. Her goal is to help more Georgians of every age gain the reading skills they need to thrive.
Originally from Woodway, Texas, Chan is a proud Baylor University graduate and, fun fact, an identical twin! Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, two sons, family, and friends. She's happiest outdoors, especially out west, where she enjoys hiking, kayaking, snow skiing, and horseback riding. She's also a fan of games and puzzles of all kinds, recently took up Mahjong, and is always glad to join her husband, the family's serious fly fisherman, out on the water.
Her favorite Georgia spots? The Toccoa River and the hiking trails of North Georgia. Give her a good view and some fresh mountain air, and she's happy.
