🐾 MEET SLICK — LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! 🖤🤍

Slick is the sweetest little guy with a big personality and so much love to give. He’s friendly, affectionate, playful, confident around dogs, and one of his favorite things is running on the cat wheel! ❤️

Slick does have feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), and we want to be completely transparent with his future family.

Feline herpes is very common in cats. Slick may occasionally have flare-ups—such as sneezing or eye irritation—especially during times of stress. Like many cats with FHV, he can still live a completely normal, happy life.

Having herpes does NOT mean Slick needs to be an only cat or that he can only be adopted by someone who already has a herpes-positive cat. We would just want any adopter with other cats to understand FHV and discuss the best introduction and precautions with their veterinarian.

In fact, if you already have a kitty with feline herpes and have been hesitant to add another cat… Slick might just be your perfect match. 🥰

Please don’t let a very common virus keep this wonderful boy from finding the family he deserves.

Slick is ready for someone to look past a diagnosis and see the amazing little cat that he is. 🐾❤️

🚨 RUSTY IS BACK IN BOARDING 🚨
FOSTER, ADOPTER & FUNDS DESPERATELY NEEDED

LOOK AT THIS HANDSOME BOY! 🧸❤️

🐾 5–6 years old
🐾 Chill 70 lbs
🧬 52.9% Rottweiler
🧬 27.7% Chow Chow
🧬 19.4% Supermutt
🧸 100% TEDDY BEAR

Rusty is one big teddy bear who desperately needs the right person to finally give him a chance.

In September 2025, people were advocating hard for Rusty at Bartow County, and we stepped up and pulled him before he was euthanized.

We were told he was dog selective, had a foster lined up, and even had a potential adopter.

Unfortunately, none of that turned out to be true.

What we learned is that Rusty needs to be the ONLY DOG in his home. He is dog aggressive, and I will not sugarcoat that. I need the right person for him, and that means a home with NO other dogs.

But with people? ❤️ Rusty is an AWESOME dog.

He is calm, affectionate and incredibly loyal. He bonds deeply with his person and does wonderfully living in a home. He’s well-mannered, loves to relax, and can even be trusted loose in the house when you’re gone.

He would much rather be stretched out on your couch than sitting in boarding.

Rusty had a wonderful temporary foster home, but due to a major life change, his foster is now working around-the-clock in a hospice home and can no longer keep him.

So Rusty is back in boarding. 💔

And while his boarding facility is wonderful — complete with pigs, cows and a caregiver who loves him — boarding is not a home. Rusty deserves his own person and his own couch.

Over the past year, we have poured everything we can into this boy: heartworm treatment, trainers, boarding, transportation and everything else he has needed.

🙏 His heartworm treatment is COMPLETE. He is healthy. He is ready.

What he needs now is a HOME.

🏡 RUSTY NEEDS:
• To be the ONLY DOG
• A securely fenced yard
• A comfy bed and a couch wouldn’t hurt 😉
• Most importantly, someone who will love him and not give up on him

I love this dog. I have fought for him for over a year, and I’m not giving up now.

We are a small, foster-based rescue without a facility, and financially, we cannot continue paying for long-term boarding. If you can’t foster or adopt, even a small donation toward Rusty’s boarding and care would mean so much.

But more than anything — PLEASE SHARE RUSTY.

Somewhere out there is someone without another dog who would absolutely love having this big teddy bear as their best friend.

I don’t invest a year into saving a dog just to give up on him now.

Rusty has already overcome too much. He deserves more than a life in boarding.

🐾 OLIVE IS READY FOR HER FOREVER HOME or FOSTER! 🐾

Olive is approximately 2–3 years old and around 50 lbs now that she’s finally at a healthy weight. ❤️

We pulled Olive from Gwinnett County in June 2026, after she had been returned to the shelter for the third time. She was overweight, struggling with skin issues, and showed signs that she hadn’t received the care she deserved. This time, with euthanasia approaching, we made sure she wasn’t going back again.

And look at her now. 🥹

Olive has been on quite the wild adventure since leaving Georgia! She has been loving her new life on a homestead , where she has enjoyed plenty of space, outdoor adventures and time with her people. Unfortunately, after several months of trying to make things work alongside their dogs and cats, it has become clear that the home is not the right fit for Olive. She will be returning to our rescue so we can help her find the forever home she truly deserves.

Olive is an active, fun, people-loving girl who wants to be right alongside her humans. Whether it’s going on a trail or nature hike, playing fetch, or helping her people carry pieces of wood from one pile to another 😂, Olive is happiest when she has something to do with the people she loves.

🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Good in the house when left alone
🐾 Great recall
🐾 Loves retrieving balls and sticks
🐾 Knows sit, down, off and leave it
🐾 Loving, affectionate and full of personality

Olive does have a strong prey drive and has not had the best experiences around other dogs, so she needs to be the only dog and only cat in her home. Oddly enough, though… she’s been good with chickens! 😂🐔

She has plenty of energy and would be wonderful for someone who enjoys being outdoors and wants a companion for walks, trails, hikes and adventures.

But underneath all that energy is a girl who simply loves her people. ❤️

After being passed around and returned again and again, Olive deserves for her next home to be the one that lasts.

She’s ready for her own people, her own adventures, and finally, a place to call home. 🏡🐾

🤍 APOLLO IS SAFE. 🤍

After watching the shelter start to take a toll on this sweet senior, we are so happy to say that Apollo is safe in foster with One Paw At A Time GA Rescue.

Apollo is 8 years old and spent those years as someone’s dog before finding himself in an overcrowded shelter. As the days passed, he started pacing more in his kennel and just wasn’t the same happy boy he had been when volunteers first met him.

But underneath all of that stress was the same gentle giant who just wanted someone to sit beside him and love on him.

Now Apollo finally has a quiet place to decompress and we can’t wait to watch him settle in and see more of his personality come back. He walks beautifully on leash, loves being close to his people and truly just wants to be loved. ❤️

Apollo is safe, but his story isn’t over. He will be looking for a forever family of his own.

For now, we’re just really grateful that tonight, instead of sleeping in a shelter kennel, Apollo gets to sleep in a home. 🥹🤍

🐾 THREE TIMES IN THE SHELTER. THIS TIME, WE WANT FOREVER FOR OLIVE.

Olive is only 2–3 years old, but somehow, she has already found herself at Gwinnett County Animal Shelter three separate times.

We don’t know everything about what brought her back each time. What we do know is that when she returned for the third time in June, Olive needed help. She was overweight, struggling with skin issues, and with euthanasia approaching, we knew we couldn’t let her story end there.

And look at her now. 🥹❤️

Olive is a healthy 55-60 lbs and has completely blossomed in foster. She’s active, incredibly smart, affectionate, and happiest when she gets to be part of whatever her people are doing.

Going for a hike? Olive’s coming.
Playing fetch? She’s ready.
Moving wood from one pile to another? Apparently, that’s her job too. 😂

🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Good in the house when left alone
🐾 Great recall
🐾 Loves retrieving balls and sticks
🐾 Knows sit, down, off and leave it
🐾 Loving, loyal and full of personality

Olive has SO much potential, but she needs the right home.

She thrives with structure, consistency, boundaries, exercise, and someone willing to continue working with her. She isn’t a dog who will thrive without direction, but when given that direction, she has shown just how incredible she can be.

When it comes to other dogs, we’re still learning what works best for Olive. After two months in foster, her foster believes she may be dog selective rather than simply dog aggressive. She has struggled with unfamiliar dogs, so any home with another dog would need to be carefully considered with proper introductions. She should not live with cats due to her prey drive. Somehow, though, chickens have made her approved list. 😂🐔

Olive would be an amazing companion for an active person or family who enjoys walks, trails, hikes and adventures and understands the importance of giving a smart, energetic dog structure.

She doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for her.
She needs someone who sees what she can become. ❤️

After three trips to the shelter, we want Olive’s next home to be chosen carefully so that this time, when she walks through the door, she never has to start over again. 🏡🐾
