🌿 Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Today, we honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples.

For Indigenous children and youth in foster care, maintaining connections to family, community, culture, language, traditions, and tribal identity can be an important part of knowing who they are and where they belong.

Every child deserves to grow up with meaningful connections to their identity and heritage. For children experiencing foster care, those connections can be especially important during times of transition and uncertainty.

Today, we recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous voices, honoring cultural identity, supporting family and community connections, and ensuring Indigenous children can maintain meaningful ties to their heritage.

Culture is connection. Identity is belonging. Every child deserves both. 💚

🍎📚 Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today, we celebrate the teachers who do so much more than teach lessons—they create safe spaces, build confidence, recognize potential, and remind children that their future is full of possibilities.

For children and youth in foster care, a caring and consistent teacher can be especially meaningful. School can provide a sense of stability during times of uncertainty, while a trusted educator can be someone who notices when a child is struggling, celebrates their accomplishments, and makes sure they know they belong.

To every teacher who shows up with patience, compassion, and encouragement: thank you for being part of a child’s village. ❤️
