On June 10th, PLCA President Robert Bendure and the PLCA Government Affairs Committee traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with policymakers on Capitol Hill to urge the passage of comprehensive bipartisan permitting reform in 2026.

After a busy day of meetings, we left with a clearer understanding of the state of negotiations on this important issue and a reinforced recognition of the PLCA's distinct and credible voice on both sides of the aisle on this and other important policy issues, given our relationships with both the owner-operators we work for and our partnership with our union workforce.

We will continue our advocacy on the Hill this summer as permitting reform negotiations continue.

Natural Allies for a Clean Energy Future Council members Mary Landrieu and Terry McAuliffe are making the case for an "all of the above" energy strategy that strengthens American energy security and helps deliver affordable, reliable power
across the country.

In their recent op-ed, they argue the challenge facing the U.S. isn't a lack of natural gas supply. It's the infrastructure needed to deliver energy where Americans need it most.

They also point out that some of the regions facing the biggest energy price spikes are the same places that spent years blocking new energy infrastructure projects.

For the pipeline industry and the workers helping build America's energy future, the message is clear: infrastructure matters.
