Join this virtual meeting, co-hosted by Encore Learning and the Arlington Public Library, to hear how The Columbia Pike Documentary Project has chronicled the ethnically diverse Columbia Pike corridor for two decades. The Pike is one of the most diverse communities in the nation, home to over 120 languages and cultures, and has been termed by scholars “The World in a Zip Code.” The project’s multi-disciplinary work explores both the area’s physical and socio-cultural makeup in compelling photos and interviews with residents. The work is deeply focused on a wide range of immigrants and long-term residents from such diverse countries as Mongolia, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Palestine, Vietnam, Egypt (to name a few), as well as native-born Hispanic and African-American residents.
