Honored to share that our CEO, Correy, was recognized with the Rising Star Award by The Shepherd Foundation

This foundation is an economic forum and leadership community that brings together emerging leaders across Dallas, TX Washington, D.C., and Oakland, CA. To be recognized by a community of some of the country’s most impactful leaders is truly humbling!

This recognition is a reflection of the incredible students, families, staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and supporters who make our work possible every day. What started as a vision to help as many people as we could has grown into a community committed to helping young people build brighter futures

These students just finished their sophomore year at Dunbar, and they’re already dreaming big. 🎓🥊👨🏾‍🍳

College. Culinary school. Professional boxing. And that’s just the beginning.

Now for the real question...

How many of these students do you think will achieve the future they just described if they stay in the Pathways to Opportunity program?

Our guess is all of them ♥️🫶🏽

Once family, always family. ♥️

One of our former instructors stopped by the Teen Lounge this week just to say hello, and moments like this are a reminder that the relationships built here last forever! She’s now serving students through DCPS, continuing the same mission that brought her to Hearts of Empowerment in the first place.

We’ll also miss Rachel (not pictured), whose last day at the Teen Lounge was this week. Thank you for everything you’ve poured into these young people and this community.

We always talk about the impact our team has on students. We don’t talk enough about the impact students have on us 🙏🏽
