Beautifully Scarred’s Youth Impacted by Violence Program provides a safe and supportive environment where youth can build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, receive mentorship, and connect with positive role models. Through life skills training, social-emotional learning, leadership development, and community support, we empower youth to overcome challenges and create brighter futures.

My name is Jayden, and before I joined Beautifully Scarred, I was always getting into trouble at school. I was angry most of the time, didn’t listen to my teachers, and often found myself being sent out of class. I felt like nobody understood me, and I started believing that I wasn’t good enough to succeed.

Things at home and school were stressful, and instead of talking about how I felt, I acted out. My grades were dropping, and I was headed down a path that could have led to suspension and even bigger problems.

When I was introduced to Beautifully Scarred, I wasn’t sure it would make a difference. But from the beginning, the mentors treated me with respect and showed me that they genuinely cared about me. They listened to me without judging me and helped me understand that my past mistakes did not define my future.

Through the mentoring sessions, leadership activities, and life skills workshops, I learned how to manage my emotions, communicate better, and make positive decisions. My mentor taught me how to think before reacting and how to turn my frustrations into motivation.

Over time, I started seeing changes in myself. I became more respectful at school, my behavior improved, and I began participating in class instead of disrupting it. My teachers noticed the difference, and so did my family. For the first time in a long time, I felt proud of myself.

One of the biggest lessons I learned was that leadership is about influence, not attention.

I now believe in myself. I have learned valuable life skills, gained confidence, and developed a vision for my future. Instead of being known as the kid who was always in trouble, I am becoming known as a young leader with goals and purpose.

Beautifully Scarred didn’t just help me change my behavior it helped me change the way I see myself. I am grateful for the support, guidance, and opportunities they have given me, and I know I am on a better path because of them.

📌 Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator

Location: Orange County, Florida (West/East Orange County communities)
Position Type: Part-Time (20-25)HRS/WEEK

🌿 Position Overview

Beautifully Scarred, Inc. is seeking a passionate and community-driven Community Outreach Coordinator to serve as a key connector between our organization and the families we serve. This role is responsible for increasing awareness, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring youth and families—especially those impacted by adversity—are successfully connected to our mentorship and life skills programs.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, relationship builder, and advocate who is committed to empowering youth and strengthening communities.

🔑 Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement community outreach strategies to increase program visibility and enrollment

Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community centers, faith-based organizations, and local agencies

Represent Beautifully Scarred at community events, resource fairs, and meetings

Recruit and engage participants for programs

Coordinate and support community-based workshops and events

Create and distribute outreach materials (flyers, social media content, presentations)

Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, referrals, and participant engagement

Assist with participant retention strategies to ensure consistent attendance

Identify community needs and provide feedback to support program development

🎯 Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of experience in community outreach, nonprofit work, or related field
Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills
Experience working with youth and families, particularly underserved populations
Ability to plan and execute community events
Basic knowledge of social media and outreach marketing
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Flexible schedule including evenings and occasional weekends
