We recently had the opportunity to tour the Polk Correctional Institution (PCI) Career and Technical Education and Prison Rehabilitative Industries Enterprises programs alongside with the Bay Area Manufacturers Association (BAMA), SAMA - Sarasota-Manatee Area Manufacturers Association, and SRMA - Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association.

During our visit, we were impressed by the quality of the curriculum and the dedication of the instructors. The Florida Department of Corrections ( ) offers a wide range of academic and vocational programs, including GED preparation, adult basic education, as well as hands on training.

These efforts are making a real difference in hashtag readiness and rehabilitation.

The Florida Department of Corrections provides a valuable pathway to help fill workforce gaps while supporting second chances.
