🌼 Art Meets Food Justice in Orlando

How the City’s “Art Pollination” Project Uses Creativity to Take On Food Insecurity

What happens when artists, city leaders, nonprofits, and neighbors come together around one mission?

In Orlando, the result is Art Pollination — a groundbreaking, multi-site public art initiative raising awareness about food insecurity through murals, exhibitions, performances, and community gatherings.

From striking new murals in Parramore to hands-on workshops that teach families how to grow and prepare healthy food, Art Pollination brings creativity and activism together in a powerful way. Led by artist and beekeeper Juan William Chávez, the project showcases work from more than 20 local and national artists — each contributing to a citywide dialogue about access, nourishment, and justice.

And this fall and winter, Art Pollination expands with two major exhibitions, community quilt-making, spoken-word storytelling, and a December 6 celebration at Lake Lorna Doone Park.
