Foundation for Foster Children

Foundation for Foster Children Creating meaningful connections for Central Florida foster youth through personalized support. This gives foster youth the self-esteem needed to succeed.

In Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties, over 60 children are taken from their homes and placed in foster care each MONTH. Of these children:

-Less than 60% will graduate from high school
-Over 20% will become homeless after age 18
-25% will end up in the criminal justice system by age 24. In 2008, the Foundation for Foster Children (FFC), a 501-c-3, was formed to address these staggering stati

stics. FFC began to provide financial support to help fill the gaps where a lack of funding and support services was not meeting the needs of children in foster care. FFC provides funding and in-kind support for the unmet needs of these youth through it's core programs. The programs were established to provide comprehensive academic support, enrichment activities (athletic program fees/uniforms, music/dance lessons, school activities, and more), celebration club. FFC negotiates discounts, subsidizes program fees and creates partnerships with community providers. FFC pays providers directly and receives assessments in return to measure outcomes. FFC provides an integral tier of support that goes beyond the basic needs of wellness and safety. This coordinated effort provides a comprehensive approach to addressing the outcomes from abuse and neglect. The hallmarks of our program, educational support, personal development, and life-skills guidance target the areas essential to changing a child’s direction from poverty, crime and government assistance so that they can better become independent, contributing members of our community.

When you support the work of FFC, you give that opportunity to the kids and teens we serve. Adventures are possible. Memories are made. Joy is created. All because of YOU!

If you’ve supported FFC in the past, thank you. 💙 If you’ve considered donating but haven’t yet, today’s the perfect day to begin. Click here to give: https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=fffc&id=8

🧰This week’s Life Skills Workshop taught the teens and young adults in foster care whom we serve fundamental rules of relationships, communication, and employment.

Each group of teens visited stations at which they learned about positive and negative feedback in relationships, different forms of communication, and how to dress for success when it comes to job interviews.💚

Your support of the Foundation helps to make important moments like these possible for the kids, and we can’t begin to thank you enough.

🔗 If you’d like to donate to FFC and help broaden the horizons of the young people we serve, the link to give today is here: https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=fffc&id=8 Thank you so much!💙

📣We have TWO incredible volunteer opportunities at events for children in foster care and their caregivers coming up, and we’d love for you to be a part of the action!

🫶 Caregivers Day Out: July 16th 10am-2:30pm at Altitude Trampoline Park in Sanford. This event is designed to provide caregivers (foster, kinship, and adoptive) with a much-needed chance to relax and connect with other caregivers. Kids will enjoy supervised activities, and volunteers are needed to help bring the event to life.✨

🎒Back to School BASH: July 10am-2:30pm (volunteer shift beginning at 8am) at Winter Park Community Center. This event will help foster, kinship, and adoptive families gear up for the new school year! Kids will receive backpacks and school supplies, and families will enjoy fun activities. Volunteers will help with activity stations, check-in, restocking and organizing supplies, and more!

➡️If you’d like to jump in and join the action as a volunteer, please reach out to Nadelein: [email protected].

Thank you so much!💙

🛼 It was a joy to celebrate the FFC graduates of all ages and stages last night . The wheels were rolling, the sodas were flowing, and the pizza was just the way you want roller rink pizza to be.🍕

🎉Best of all? Having the opportunity to honor the incredible children and teens in foster care whom we serve, and all that they’ve poured into their academic life this past year. They’ve worked so hard and last night’s celebration was the icing on the cake!🍰

If you’ve supported FFC over the last school year by donating, sharing, or volunteering, you’ve made a far-reaching difference in the lives of these amazing young people. Thank you!❣️

If you’d like to help continue the work of the Foundation for Foster Children, the links to donate and volunteer can be found in our bio.🔗
