Founded in Maryland in 1974, we are a grass-roots lobbying organization for motorcyclists. ABATE of Maryland, Inc.

is a not for profit organization dedicated to maintaining motorcycling through supporting safety programs, fair and equitable legislation. formulates plans and strategies for developing and introducing motorcycle legislation which strengthens our rights as riders. We lobby in Annapolis every Monday night when the House and Senate are in session. Members also attend special meetings and special sessions when necessary.

The MMR-PAC (Maryland Motorcycle Riders Political Action Committee), evaluates state and local candidates for the Maryland General Election based on their support for motorcycle safety, rider freedom, and legislative issues affecting the motorcycling community. Rather than focusing strictly on party affiliation, the PAC avaluates candidates based on their legislative voting records, survey responses, and sponsorship of key bills, etc.

One of our fellow ABATE members and motorcylcle rider, Delegate Kathy Szeliga, is having her annual fundraiser at Boordy Vineyards. The event will be held Tuesday, October 20, from 6:00–7:30 PM at Boordy Vineyards, 12820 Long Green Pike, Hydes, Maryland.

This is an election year, and Kathy is working hard, as usual.
