Voting by mail is still safe and secure! Due to a printing error, if you requested your mail-in ballot on or before May 13th, you’ll be getting a replacement ballot in the mail soon! Please follow all the instructions on the replacement ballot and return it.

Existing safeguards will prevent duplicate voting, even if you already mailed the original ballot back. Thanks to Maryland State Board of Elections for fixing the issue with full transparency!

Today, signed the Automatic Voter Restoration bill (SB242/ HB115) into law, ensuring that eligible Marylanders have their voter registration restored upon release from a DPSCS correctional facility. This builds on the Value My Vote Act passed in 2022 which includes a requirement that voter reg forms be distributed during the release process also the state AVR program. Thank you to our legislative champions !

This brings us one step closer to ending felony disenfranchisement in the state.

We knew this day could come. That’s why Common Cause has been fighting for a comprehensive Maryland Voting Rights Act and a national ban on partisan gerrymandering.

While we’ve secured wins for language access and banned racial discrimination in local elections, the job isn’t finished. Protections against voter intimidation and suppression, legislation championed by , are also critical.

We won’t stop until every eligible Marylander has a guaranteed, equal right to the ballot. 🗳️✨

Thank you to for inviting us to participate in his Campaign Finance Reform Roundtable. We were able to highlight the progress we’ve made as a state in amplifying Marylanders’ voices against the flood of big money in our elections and share w/ Ranking Member how certain aspects of our programs can serve as a model for federal legislation.

In Maryland, we have established six local public campaign financing programs and updated the gubernatorial program. Because of our advocacy in coalition w/ .maryland and others, 71% of Marylanders now live in a jurisdiction that provides candidates an alternative option to powering their campaigns. Five of these programs are in use this election cycle w/ 60 active campaign committees.

A special thank you to who has been instrumental in our statewide efforts and to local elected officials like who not only use public financing but also continue to improve and ensure these programs work as intended.
