“Daddy, I need a hug.”

For one father, those five words captured just how far his son Ben has come with the support of Partners in Child Development’s Early Intervention Services.

In this heartfelt story, Ben’s dad shares what it was like to navigate early developmental concerns, begin Early Intervention, and learn strategies that helped their family support Ben’s communication, confidence, eating, and everyday routines.

Most of all, he shares an important message for other fathers and families: don’t wait to seek help.

Communication begins long before a child says their first words.

Cooing, babbling, gestures, facial expressions, songs, and simple signs all help infants and toddlers connect with the world around them. For young children with hearing loss, Early Intervention can help families learn strategies that support communication during this important stage of development.

Our latest blog shares more about hearing loss in young children and how Partners in Child Development’s Early Intervention Services can help.

When John was diagnosed with achromatopsia and nystagmus as an infant, his family was connected with Partners in Child Development’s Early Intervention Services.

Our multidisciplinary team worked closely with John’s family and our partner, Perkins School for the Blind, to support his vision, motor development and transition to preschool.

Today, John has successfully transitioned to public preschool. We are so proud of his growth and grateful to have been part of his family’s journey.

What a wonderful time our Early Intervention community had during Grandparents & Special Friends Week!

The comments from our guests truly said it all; they were so thankful for the opportunity to see their loved ones learning, playing, and being part of a group. They were thrilled to join us in the classrooms and on the playground throughout the week!

One of the highlights was hearing all the special names the children use for their grandparents and special friends.
Thank you to every Bubba, Nanny, Papa, Loli, Nono, Nana, Auntie, Pre, Grammy, Omi, Mamie, Abuela, Jiddo, Grandma, Ba, Sissy, Brother, Lolli, Mama, Uncle, Pa, Nomi, GiGi, Mimi, and TaTa who joined us! 💙
