The fifth and final episode of season 4 comes out next week! This episode features host Malinda Wagstaff speaking with Tim Long. Timothy Long is a conductor, pianist, and composer and is currently on the faculty at the Eastman School of Music. He also has training as a violinist, and he has worked around the United States and the world conducting orchestras and operas. He is also a champion and supporter of indigenous artists.

In this discussion, Malinda and Tim talk about mental health, Tim’s work with indigenous artists, and how Tim’s education and career led him to his work as a conductor and the artistic director of Eastman Opera Theatre.

We are happy to announce the return of the What is Opera, Anyway? podcast! The first episode of our new season will come out a week from today. This episode features host Malinda Wagstaff speaking with Nina Yoshida Nelsen, a mezzo-soprano who has been captivating audiences across North America and Europe. She has been praised for her portrayals of Suzuki in "Madama Butterfly," Mama in “An American Dream,” and Fricka in “Die Walküre,” just to name a few. In addition to her exceptional performance resume, Nina is the board president and co-founder of the Asian Opera Alliance.
