A heartfelt thank you to our friends at ConocoPhillips Aviation Department for donating backpacks filled with essential necessities to the Downtown Hope Center! ♥ Each backpack includes helpful necessities like gloves, hats, toothbrushes, Chapstick, hair ties, notebooks, and more. We'll be handing them out to guests who use our Shower House to help meet their everyday needs.
We are so grateful for ConocoPhillips and their generosity in helping us serve our neighbors with hope, dignity, and compassion. 💙

📣Project Homeless Connect is coming! In about three weeks, on Monday, October 26th, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Egan Center in downtown Anchorage.
Our community is coming together to provide support and resources for our unhoused neighbors. With more than 70 service providers and community partners, guests can access a wide range of services—all in one place.
From an ID to glasses, a vaccine to a haircut, guests will be able to connect with:
♥ Healthcare and housing resources
🥘 A hot meal and winter coat
🙏🏼 Recovery and support services
⚖ Legal services
🏠 Shelter resources
💼 Job training and employment opportunities
Help us spread the word! Please share this event with our unhoused neighbors who may benefit from these services.
🙌🏼 We also need volunteers! Many amazing community members have already signed up, but we still need about 50 more volunteers to help the day run smoothly for everyone.
Whether you can help serve, welcome guests, provide support, or simply lend a helping hand, we'd love to have you join us!
Together, we can connect our neighbors with the resources, care, and hope they need. ♥

Downtown Hope Center isn't just a soup kitchen, a shower house, or a job training program. It's a place where miracles happen. Hear from the staff, graduates, and community who've seen hope restored, hearts renewed, and lives transformed in Anchorage, Alaska.

Inspired by the love of Jesus, Downtown Hope Center offers those in need support, shelter, sustenance, and skills to transform their lives. Above all else, we love people. We meet basic needs like food, clothing, and showers, and then we go further, building real relationships and walking alongside people through a journey of transformation. It's a hand up, not a handout.

What began as a small soup kitchen in a downtown alley now serves Anchorage every day:
🍲 Around 400 meals served daily through our soup kitchen and outreach
🏠 A women's shelter providing a safe place to sleep for about 70 women each night
🚿 A coffee and shower house offering dignity and basic care
👩‍🍳 Feed Me Hope, a 24-week culinary and bakery job training program with 250+ graduates
🏡 Transitional housing for students building a new life

Everyone who walks through our doors is treated with dignity, accepted, and loved.
