The Brand Creation and Social Media Skills classes offer a comprehensive look into creating and maintaining a successful brand in digital media. Students will gain an understanding of the ins and outs of building a unique brand identity while still ensuring it is manageable. They will learn to create a logo, explore business licensing, analyze the current market, understand customer needs, and build an effective marketing strategy. With the help and skills of a local business, Upper One Studios, students can develop their social media skills by taking pictures of other students in action and learning how to create reels, post content, link all forms of media together, and use relevant hashtags. Through this process, they can focus on optimizing visuals for maximum impact.

The Barista/Coffee Skills classes will provide students with comprehensive barista and coffee skills instruction. The curriculum is designed to ensure that students can understand the science behind making a great cup of coffee and gain hands-on experience in making them. Classes will begin with instruction on using an espresso machine, including properly preparing, cleaning, and maintaining it. It will then progress into learning the timing required for perfect shots and correctly mixing coffee flavors. Students will also be taught to make hot and iced drinks and de-caffeinated options. On weekends, students can practice their skills at local cafes, gaining invaluable experience in customer service, working a cafe floor, and restocking at the day's end. After the course, participants will be knowledgeable about all elements of barista/coffee skills and well-prepared for a career in specialty coffee.

The Baking, Wholesale, Inventory, and Food Truck classes will allow students to gain hands-on experience in baking. They will learn to prepare and bake various confectionary treats, including cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Students will learn about inventory management as they order all the ingredients they need for their recipes each week while avoiding food waste. They will also try out a commercial cookie dough machine that wraps pre-made dough disks for baking Ravn Airlines' cookies. In addition to learning about baking and maintaining inventory, students will also learn about retail and wholesale options for their baked goods. They'll be encouraged to develop unique cookie flavor combinations! On weekends, students will accompany Kastles Kreations in her food truck and get a first-hand look at what it's like to work in a smaller setting outside of the store. This includes learning how to fill the water tank, dealing with colder temperatures during winter, and having fun while serving customers.

The Janitorial and Life skills classes will cover a wide range of essential janitorial and life skills in the workplace. In the janitorial course, they will learn all aspects of janitorial at a commercial level, including mixing various chemicals and following proper cleaning protocol for the kitchen and restrooms. Participants will also learn basic math skills like balancing a checkbook, filing taxes, and other essential money management techniques. In the life skills portion of the course, participants will receive guidance on resume-building and interviewing techniques. They will have business owners come in to do mock interviews once a week so they can practice their newly acquired interview skills. Additionally, students will receive an outfit appropriate for job interviews to aid them in professionally presenting themselves to potential employers.

The Back of the House classes will provide an in-depth experience in the culinary arts. The 5-star chef with over 20 years of experience will evaluate every student's skill level and create custom sessions to enhance each individual's talents. Students will learn how to stock food properly, from organizing freezers and coolers to stocking shelves for easy access. Prep cook classes will teach students how to precisely fill containers, make sauces, and dice all ingredients needed for the day's menu. Fry cook courses will teach the proper portion control techniques, anticipate when items need to be placed in the fryer according to order tickets, season food once out of the fryer, test temperature levels, and maintain a clean working space. Line cooks will learn how to call tickets upon printing them and which foods cook faster than others while mastering the art of plating correctly, so all tickets come out simultaneously. Additionally, line cook classes instruct on properly addressing servers if sent-back items arise. With these comprehensive courses offered by our 5-star chef instructor, participants can feel confident they have acquired fundamental knowledge and advanced skills in the culinary field.

The Front of the House classes will provide comprehensive instruction to students in all aspects of working in a café and restaurant setting. Classes will include customer service, handling difficult customers, phone etiquette, and how to anticipate coworkers' needs. In addition, TAPPS class will be offered as an option for those who wish to learn bartending basics, such as pouring accurately measured drinks and making simple cocktails. The Front of the House offers practical experience as well. On weekends, students are shadowed by their teacher to apply their knowledge and skills to real-life situations encountered in a hospitality environment. This allows students to gain hands-on experience, which is invaluable in preparing them for success in their future careers.
