The Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation of Alaska is hosting a Beloved Community Family Reunion, a key event designed to bring the Anchorage community together in the spirit of Dr. King’s vision of unity and service. The event will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Park Strip beginning at 10:00 AM. While the main MLK Day observances are held in January, this "Family Reunion" style fundraiser offers a vibrant, multi-sensory experience focused on fellowship and community health.

Here is a breakdown of what you can expect at this event:

Health & Wellness
• Free Medical Screenings: Providing the community with access to blood pressure checks, glucose testing, and other preventative health consultations.
• Resource Fair: Information booths from local non-profits and health organizations offering guidance on social services and wellness.
Public Safety & First Responders
• Friendly Competition: "Battle of the Badges" or similar competitions between law enforcement and first responders to build rapport between the community and those who serve it.
• Vehicle Display: A "touch-a-truck" style experience where kids and families can explore fire engines, police cruisers, and emergency response vehicles.
Food & Entertainment
• Food Trucks: A diverse lineup of local vendors offering everything from soul food to Alaskan favorites.
• Family-Friendly Music: Live music or local bands playing upbeat, positive sets that keep the energy high for all ages.
• Games & Activities: Bounce houses, face painting, and field-day style games (like potato sack races) for the children.

This special event brings Alaskans together for a day of fellowship, cultural celebration, and mutual understanding. By offering free community screenings and engaging activities, we aim to foster an inclusive environment for people of all ages. To keep this gathering accessible to everyone, we rely on support from community-minded leaders like you. Your generous contribution directly funds the logistics, programming, and outreach needed to keep these community activities free.

We offer the following sponsorship tiers:
• Platinum Sponsor: $5,000
• Gold Sponsor: $2,500
• Silver Sponsor: $1,000
• Bronze Sponsor: $500
• Patron Donor: $50 – $499

Since 1986, the MLK Jr. Foundation of Alaska has been guided by a clear mission: to build a monument of equality and brotherhood in the hearts of all Alaskans, fostering unity and embracing diversity among all races in line with Dr. King’s legacy, and working toward his vision of the "Beloved Community." The Reunion directly reflects this mission—a joyful space where dialogue and shared resources enable us to connect not as strangers, but as neighbors.
