Here is another runner story-
Hi, I’m Cari. I love traveling to different places to run half marathons, using each race as a way to explore new environments, challenge myself, meet new people and stay connected to my goals.

Running has become my way to create structure, clear my mind, and push beyond what I once thought I was capable of. Every course brings something new—different terrain, different energy, and a new version of myself showing up.

I’m especially grateful to be running in Alaska, a place that feels both powerful and grounding. It’s an experience I’ve been looking forward to, and I’m excited to take it all in, one mile at a time.

Next, I’m stepping into the world of ultra marathons. I’m excited for the training ahead and everything it will teach me—about endurance, discipline, and mental strength. This is just the beginning of a new chapter.

See you all at the finish line! — Cari

Please welcome Almerico Regine from Italy to Anchorage RunFest! Here is his runner story.

I live and work in Rome as an electrical engineer. However, I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Ischia, off the coast of Naples, Italy.

This is my second time visiting Alaska. I fell in love with it during my first trip last year and couldn’t wait to come back.

I completed my very first race in October 2025: the Rome Half Marathon. Running through the city’s incredible history- past iconic monuments, unique squares, and the Colosseum- was an unforgettable experience.

Now I’m even more excited to run the Half Marathon here in Alaska, surrounded by breathtaking wilderness and landscapes that make this place so special.

Back home on my island, I also enjoy cycling and, of course, swimming in its crystal-clear blue waters.

My next dream is to complete a triathlon, and if there’s ever a chance to race one here in Alaska, I’d love to do it surrounded by this incredible wilderness.
