Health TIE's brought two amazing groups together, Anonymous Health & the Alaska Brain Bus so that Alaskans in rural, remote areas can receive care for Traumatic Brain Injuries along with learning about resources for Substance Use Disorders & Behavioral Health.

Anonymous Health provides easily accessed care for Behavioral Health & Substance Use Disorders & is especially helpful in smaller populated areas due to limited services or because people don't want their friends and neighbors to know they are receiving services.

This summer more Alaskans will be on the road to recovery for Traumatic Brain Injuries as well as accessing care for Substance Use Disorders & Behavioral Health Conditions.

Changemakers are people who see a problem a decide their the one to fix it.

Rachel Bernhardt is making a difference in end-of-life care for Alaskans. The July 2024 Alaska Business magazine includes an article that highlights Rachel's work through Alaska Natural Burial, Flameless Cremation Services and the Alaska End-of-Life Alliance.

These aren't easy conversations to have, but I've learned people do want to have them. If you want to learn more Rachel's work to develop the first natural burial cemetery in Alaska, or about hydro-cremation, a more ecologically friendly alternative to traditional methods, or end-of-life choices, read the article AND reach out to Rachel.

Changemakers connect the dots and make things happen. Kierre Childers with Treks + Tours is making sure seniors in Mat-Su have plenty of options for staying healthy and connected. Revel Treks + Tours started offering senior-focused activities after a client mentioned she was having trouble keeping up.

Customized hikes have been a huge success and, along with exercise, provide lots of motivation and fun connections. Kudos to Kierre for making a difference and finding a great way to improve healthcare in Mat-Su.
