Upcoming Events
Kris Kinder
December 12, 2026
Calvary Lutheran School
12411 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145
Opens 8:00 AM
Closes 8:00 PM

Kris Kinder is the big winter shopping event held every year in Kansas City. People come from all over the kingdom to look at the wares the merchants bring and buy gifts or materials for projects.
The event also has many planning meetings and a large court at the end of the day where a lot of business is conducted and many awards and recognitions are given out.

There is an on-site ‘inn’ that will have food so people don’t have to leave site to eat.

It is a single day event where people generally show up in the morning, go shopping, attend meetings throughout the day, and attend the large court in the afternoon. After that, people leave the site and enjoy dinner at one of many many wonderful restaurants in the area. (We can even help suggest a few)

Some people from the Iowa SCA groups make a weekend of it and stay in the Kansas City area where they attend the event on Saturday and do a little shopping on Sunday before driving home. Others from the central to southern regions of Iowa may choose to make a (very) long day of it and day trip.

Costs for the event are $25 for adult non-members, $15 for adult members, and free for children under 18.

Thomas Jefferson Middle School
1201 Fairgrounds Rd
Jefferson City, MO 65109

Closes 8:00 PM

Toys for Tots is a yearly event held in Jefferson City, MO, that includes a large charitable collection of toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots toy drive. People are encouraged to bring toy donations for the drive.

The rest of the event is pretty much a fighting event with different marshal activities throughout the day. This is a single day event with people arriving in the morning, participating in combat recreation through the day and leaving in the evening. Many people traveling distances will stay at local hotels for one or more nights and make a weekend of it.

There is food provided by a non-SCA school concession stand and they discourage people from bringing in their own food.

There are activities for rattan combat, steel combat and youth combat. Some spectators may bring small crafting projects as they sit in the schools’ bleachers to watch the combat activities.

Costs for the event are $30 for adult non-members, $20 for adult members, $5 for children ages 12-17, and free for children under 12.

Upcoming Events
Fall Crown Tournament
November 14, 2026
Relevant Center, 21220 Elkhorn Dr, Elkhorn, NE 68022
Opens 8:30 AM
Closes 7:00 PM

Part of the fun of the Society for Creative Anachronism is recreating the spectacle of royalty. Once every 6 months a tournament is held in the kingdom to decide on the next royalty of Calontir, the area comprising Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. The best rattan fighters in the Kingdom gather together and participate in a grand tournament and the winner will become the prince or princess by right of arms with their consort becoming the prince or princess.

These events tend to be grand shows of ceremony and display. People will commonly wear their nicer historic clothing and bring items of heraldic display.

This is a single day event where people arrive in the morning, watch the tournament, attend afternoon court and then leave site in the late afternoon. For those who wish to learn more about the pageantry of the SCA or those who enjoy watching the fighting, this is a great event to check out.

The site opens at 8:30 AM and closes at 7:00 PM with many of the attendees enjoying an evening feast and those not staying may enjoy a meal at some of the great dining options across Omaha.

The hosting Barony is scheduling Food Trucks to provide lunch, planned from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Cost of the event is $30 for adults and $20 for adult member. Youth 6-17 are $10 and under 5 are free.
