Hannah Feilmeier is the Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator at Mary Greeley Medical Center and serves on the AREA YP Advisory Council. Hannah moved back to Ames after living in Columbus, OH - Ames provided that perfect, welcoming community that she now proudly calls home! She is making an impact and loves to meet new AREA YP members.

🌟 Introducing Rising YP! 🌟

We’re excited to kick off a new series highlighting the emerging leaders, innovators, and community-minded young professionals making an impact across our region.

First up: Ashley Stone!

Ashley is the Senior Director of Donor Relations at the Iowa State University Foundation, where she leads initiatives focused on donor engagement, stewardship, and philanthropic impact. With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, athletics, and student affairs, Ashley has built her career around connecting people to purpose and creating positive change.

Since moving to the area, Ashley has jumped right into the community and AREA YP! She’s participating in the AREA YP Mentorship Program, volunteered at community events, and consistently shows up ready to get involved.

Congratulations, Ashley, on being our first Rising YP!

Help us celebrate Ashley and follow along as we highlight more of the young professionals who are helping make our community a great place to live, work, and play.

A gorgeous morning for the AREA YP Book Club ☀️

Our third and final meeting for the Digital Minimalism book will be on Thursday, September 17th from 7:30-8:30am at the Burgie's South location! Even if you haven't been able to attend the first 2 meetings, you are invited to join in on this meeting where we will discuss chapters 6, 7 and the conclusion of the book.

This is such a fun opportunity to get together over a cup of coffee and talk about ways to use technology more intentionally. See you in September! 📚

We sipped, we shopped, and we had the most amazing time in Downtown Ames with AREA YP!

Last night, AREA YP members served 105 meals to community members at Food at First. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to volunteer with us, it has been an amazing way to give back to our community.

No action photos this time around, but we were able to get a photo with the head chef of the evening!

We are SO excited for next week! Join AREA Young Professionals for a fun and relaxed Sip & Shop on Main Street! We’ll kick things off with a drink in the Laughlin Level at the Ames Regional Economic Alliance before heading out.

Yesterday, we celebrated National Intern Day with an inspiring conversation featuring Grace Larkey, one of our AREA YP 4 Under 40 recipients!

Grace shared her career journey and the lessons she's learned along the way. Thank you, Grace, for showing what's possible when you build your career right here in the Ames region.

To all of our interns spending the summer in the AREA—we're so glad you're here. We hope you've discovered not only valuable professional experiences, but also the people, opportunities, and community that make this a great place to live, work, and play!

Last night, AREA Young Professionals had the opportunity to serve our community by volunteering at Food at First, helping provide a hot meal and welcoming space for those experiencing food insecurity.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and to Food at First for all that you do!
