Creative Counseling Services CCS was started in 2008. We provide mental health assessment and individual counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling.

Mental Health resource in Story County focused on providing quality mental health counseling services while training the next generation of mental health therapists. We are a small agency that strives to tailor each client's treatment specifically to their needs.

Providers everywhere can relate to these horror stories. But when it comes to the mental health system overall these horror stories change...and they become even scarier.
Here is our list:
1. Limiting provider access to accept Medicaid
2. Decreasing reimbursement for telehealth services, especially in rural areas
3. Limited access to psychiatric care
4. Medication shortages and insurance not covering medications that clients/providers know work for them
5. Financial barriers to accessing mental health care

Did you know there are people in our community who face significant barriers to accessing mental health therapy? In addition to deactivating providers, IME has given permission for two of their three Managed Care Organizations to freeze allowing new providers in their networks.

These changes are part of what makes our work so important. We are making mental health therapy accessible AND giving graduate student counselors internship opportunities.

Individuals who utilize Medicaid often face barriers to finding mental health care. Other people who face barriers are those with large deductibles, high copays, out of area plans, or plans with few providers. Our program uses graduate student interns to provide no cost services to residents of Story County and low cost services to residents outside of Story County.
