Community Services for Children Community Services for Children (CSC), a leader in early education, serves the most at-risk children and their families in the Lehigh Valley. Who is CSC?

Specific programs include Head Start/Early Head Start & Pre-K Counts classes and Early Learning Resource Centers. CSC believes all children deserve a chance to succeed in school, and the path to success begins in early childhood within a nurturing family. CSC is a leader in early education and family development, promoting quality and innovative practices that affect the lives of 40,000 children annually in 17 counties of northeastern Pennsylvania. Founded in 1981, CSC is committed to ensuring that children enter school ready to learn and their families are prepared to assist them. We provide early learning and child care support services to young children and their parents, low-income families and child care providers. Programs & Services:
• Directly provide Head Start, Early Head Start, PreK Counts preschool
• Administer the Keystone STARS program to improve child care quality through the Northeast Regional Key
• Administer subsidies to help low-income families access child care through the Child Care Works program in Lehigh County
• Provide professional and parenting education through Early Education Academy

CSC is the sole provider of Head Start in Northampton and Lehigh counties, which has been in operation since 1965.

Our days are filled with tummy time, playtime, storytime, snuggles, and plenty of those sweet little moments that make us smile. 💛👶 Every day is a new opportunity for our littlest learners to explore, discover, and grow!

For nearly five decades, Barry Fisher has helped connect the Lehigh Valley to the people, stories and organizations that make our community special.

Through his longtime leadership at WFMZ, Barry has helped provide a platform for local voices, community causes and organizations like CSC. His support of early childhood education and belief in CSC’s mission have helped our work reach farther.

💙 Our Donley Campus families came together for a wonderful Family Workshop!

Families had the opportunity to learn more about our program, connect with helpful family resources, and build connections with other parents. We also had plenty of fun along the way with a parent game, prizes, snacks, and opportunities to engage and enjoy time together! 🎉🍎

A special part of the workshop was our Policy Council Representative election. Three parents stepped forward to represent their fellow families, and our families participated in a vote to select their new representative. 🗳️👏 Congratulations to our new Policy Council Representative!

We are so grateful to all of the Donley Campus parents who joined us, participated, and continue to play such an important role in our program. 💙 We love strengthening our partnerships with families and creating opportunities for parents to have a voice in their children's early learning experience!

This year, Community Services for Children is celebrating a very special milestone — the 30th Annual Donley Awards & Gala, honoring 45 years of CSC’s impact in our community! 💙

For three decades, the Donley Awards & Gala has brought together friends, supporters, and community leaders to celebrate those who have made a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. This year, we are proud to continue that tradition while recognizing three incredible award recipients:
