SELF! has been going through a very dry season. Most days lately have felt heavy and challenging.

But today… we received a donation of THREE food pallets for La Bodeguita!!! Our last food donation was back in November, so this meant more than words can explain.

I am absolutely exhausted, but my heart is so full. Watching our community come together today was beautiful. Three of our graduates showed up ready to help alongside their loved ones, our VISTA Liz jumped right in with her family and extra hands, our neighbor took all the boxes to the recycling center, everyone was helping unload the truck, and our current resident stood there in disbelief watching it all happen.

Moments like this remind me that even during the hardest seasons, community shows up.
Today was a good day, it cant rain forever! ❤️

Today we honor the strength, resilience, and unconditional love of mothers everywhere — especially the women rebuilding their lives, reconnecting with their children, and fighting every day for a second chance.

At SELF! LV Women's Reentry, we know motherhood doesn’t stop because life gets hard. Many of the women we serve carry the weight of trauma, incarceration, housing insecurity, and separation from their children — yet they continue to show up with courage and love.

Mother’s Day can bring joy, grief, healing, and hope all at once. To every mother in our community: we see you, we honor you, and we are rooting for you. 💜

To the grandmothers, aunties, foster moms, chosen moms, and mother figures holding families together — thank you for your strength and sacrifice.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at SELF! LV. 🌸

Did you know that over 1,000 people in Pennsylvania are currently serving a sentence that was just ruled unconstitutional? Lawmakers have less than 100 days to provide relief to as many of these people as possible, or they might be condemned to die in prison.

1. PA CareerLink Lehigh Valley Second Chance Job Fair is happening on Tuesday, April 21 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

2. Interested in Construction? The ELEVATE program from the PA Department of Corrections is looking for restored citizens wishing to gain employment and build their careers.

3. SPIN is looking for those interested in becoming Direct Support Professionals, helping their fellow adults live their best lives through individualized support.
