The Food Justice Corps got hands-on with bees today! 🐝🍯

The crew learned about the life cycle of bees, their critical role in our food system, and how beekeepers care for their hives and harvest honey.

A huge thank you to Bob and Corin from Syracuse Honey for an amazing workshop, and a brand-new experience for the whole crew! 🌻🐝

The first week of the Food Justice Corps is in the books! 🌱

Our crew members spent the week revitalizing and maintaining four community gardens on Syracuse’s Southwest Side. From pulling weeds and preparing garden beds to planting and seeding, they put in the hard work needed to help these spaces thrive.

We’re excited to watch both these gardens, and our crew, grow over the coming weeks. 💚

Happy Earth Week 🌎
At TEAL, it’s Earth Week every week. Here’s a look back over the last year of stewardship in Syracuse.

Our mission is to reconnect people to their environment through education and the creation and care of green spaces.

This year, that’s included neighborhood cleanups, tree planting for riparian restoration, farm infrastructure building, and hands-on workshops with our community.

And we’re just getting started.
