Coming from the Ignite the Way experience in Salamanca, five participants from the Ignatian Spirituality Network (ISN) of the Jesuit Conference of Asia Pacific (JCAP) put together a workshop for Discernment in Common using presentations and guided experiences.

Amid the voices of this age
Many names compete for our hearts
Opinions rise and quickly scatter
Truth becomes a matter of crowds
Yet Jesus asks us to listen

Not what the world says of Me
Not what the loudest voices proclaim
But who do you say I am
His question pierces through our noise
And calls our hearts to answer

Peter speaks what faith has seen
You are Christ, the living Son
Not flesh nor blood revealed this

We thank the Lord for the gift of a new Jesuit priest for Australia: Fr Matthew Pinson SJ.

Fr Matthew was ordained to the priesthood on 8 August 2026 in a joyful celebration at St Mary’s Church, North Sydney. The ordaining prelate was Most Rev Patrick O’Regan, Archbishop of Adelaide, who was Fr Matthew’s parish priest during his childhood in Cowra, New South Wales.

We pray for Fr Matthew as he begins his priestly ministry, that he may faithfully serve God and His people and continue to find Christ in all things.
