Completed in 1967, the Ramon Magsaysay Center remains one of the defining modernist landmarks along Roxas Boulevard. Designed by Alfredo J. Luz in collaboration with Pietro Belluschi, its 18-storey tower is distinguished by its tree-like pilotis, travertine-clad mass, and expressed structural system.

For Sketching Modernity, BluPrint Editor-in-Chief Paulo G. Alcazaren draws the Ramon Magsaysay Center and reflects on the architecture, engineering, and enduring influence of this Manila landmark.
