🇵🇭 🇰🇷 At the 2026 Philippines–Korea Copyright Forum hosted by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), and the Korea Copyright Protection Agency (KCOPA Manila Representative Office), Philippines Recorded Music Rights Inc. (PRM) joined local and international leaders to address key issues in digital rights management, especially in an age where the creative industry is facing AI challenges.

🎸 During the forum's second session on music copyright challenges, PRM General Manager Ace Acosta highlighted the severe operational risks posed by mass-produced AI content on global streaming platforms. Emphasizing how algorithmic royalty fraud, low-quality metadata, and licensing discrepancies divert revenue from human creatives, PRM advocated for stronger metadata governance and integrated management systems to ensure reliable rights tracking and fair royalty distribution.

Philippines Recorded Music Rights Inc. (PRM) is proud to share this music industry milestone: a Memorandum of Agreement, signed with the Department of Tourism - Philippines (DOT) to support the securing of necessary sound recording licenses, and promoting the lawful use of music nationwide.

This five-year agreement provides discounted licensing rates to DOT-accredited establishments for the public use of sound recordings, while upholding the statutory rights of recording artists and producers.

PRM commends the DOT for its commitment to protecting intellectual property rights, while promoting Philippine culture through tourism.

We’re looking back at Universal Music Group Philippines’ Music Is Universal: Artist Showcase, where an incredible cross-section of OPM talent shared one stage.

It was an electrifying night of endless music as promised, with sets from solo artists such as Ez Mil, Moira Dela Torre, Dionela, juan karlos, Janine Berdin, Jayda Avanzado, Fern., and group acts such as ONE CLICK STRAIGHT, HEY JUNE!, and XONARA. They proved just how rich and dynamic our sound is today.

Nights like these reinforce our mission at PRM to support the artists behind the music, and advocate for a time where local music continues to thrive. 🎸
