Congratulations to Masoma, who passed her test today! It hasn’t always been an easy journey, but she absolutely flew through her test on 1 October, a brilliant start to the month. 🦋

We’re celebrating Dib, who passed her restricted licence first time on Monday. 🥳 On a gorgeous Wellington day, it’s easy to forget how tough getting around can be when the wind and rain set in, so this achievement will make a huge difference for her.
Thank you to David, her mentor, for the many hours of practice and encouragement. Your support strengthens our whole Driving for Inclusion whānau!

Congratulations to Jose y Nelli for their restricted licence! ✨
Neither of them drove in Colombia but with the isolation here, they felt the need to be able to drive to access work, health care and improve access to places like Palmerston North and Wellington.

And thank you so much to their wonderful mentors! 💖
One of them commented: "we have a good laugh at the way we communicate via Google translate (especially as it does not recognise the kiwi accent). It has been great fun getting to know my Learner and seeing them pass. They have put in so much time and effort to be at a level to sit a test, which is not easy in a language which is second to your own language."

Nigussie was a social worker in Ethiopia, before working for World Vision in refugee resettlement. Nigussie has been working with and supporting refugees for decades, and now serves as the Vice Chairman of the African Community Council Wellington.

Huge congratulations to Leidy Daniela, our first learner to pass her restricted licence this financial year! She sailed through the test and is excited for the independence and freedom that driving brings. A massive thank you to Luciene, who has supported her every step of the way. Not sure who was more nervous — or more thrilled with the result — but the smiles said it all. 🌞
