Gordon Carmichael Reserve parkrun started on 6th April 2024. Since then 2,756 participants have completed 12,207 parkruns covering a total distance of 61,035 km, including 2,166 new Personal Bests. A total of 302 individuals have volunteered 1,562 times.
Saturday was a little cool with low wind and some sunshine; perfect conditions for the Gordon Carmichael Parkrun.
It was wonderful to see so many friendly faces running, walking, and simply enjoying a lovely morning together.
We were very lucky to be treated to sweets at the finish, and some even enjoyed a special cookie iced with “Parkrun 100” to celebrate Lesley Warner-Bird’s 100th parkrun. Lesley is an integral part of our parkrun community, having been involved from the very beginning and generously volunteering an impressive 140 times.
A big shout-out also goes to Rich Aveyard, who completed his 200th parkrun this week. Rich has contributed enormously as well, with 76 volunteer credits to his name.
As we always say, parkrun wouldn’t be possible without volunteers, so if you’re reading this and haven’t volunteered for a while, why not give it a go.
Parkrun is my happy place, whether walking or volunteering, Denise Fellows 🙂
